You're on Route 52 with XBE. For 52 straight Mondays during 2025, we're announcing something new and exciting.

We've reached Mile Marker Four: Driver Day Adjustments.

If you pay or manage driver commissions, this stop is for you.

We know commission policies can be complex—rates can vary by trailer type, day of the week, time of day, driver, or more. Throw in changing rate multipliers, percentages, flat amounts, and maximum caps, and it can be tedious and error-prone to manage.

So we built a new feature that eliminates this complexity by letting you write your plan in plain language. No complicated configuration. Just a simple text box where you describe the rules, and XBE automatically applies them to each driver’s day.

Here are a few examples of valid plans:

  • Example 1: The driver commission is 7% of base transportation revenue (without fuel surcharge) only if above $750.
  • Example 2: For Tri-Axles, pay the driver 2% more than the standard 8% commission.
  • Example 3: The driver owes $40 per driver day if they're driving a pneumatic tanker. Their commission is 5% of total revenue.

It might sound like there’s some Wizard of Oz magic behind the curtain, but it’s completely automated—no manual steps or hidden processes.

This advanced approach to driver day adjustments was made possible by a novel implementation strategy that leverages the latest AI techniques for interpreting plan text. The result is a robust, accurate, and easy-to-use solution that saves time and reduces errors.

Stay tuned next week for Mile Marker Five.
