New equipment management capabilities in XBE — powered by our acquisition of Gauge
It's been eleven months since XBE acquired Gauge, and I want to share what that means for our customers — what we've been building, where we're headed, and how it strengthens the platform.
Why we acquired Gauge
Equipment is central to everything our customers do. XBE has always had deep equipment-related functionality: scheduling, dispatch, movement, time keeping, rental management, telematics visibility, and more. But we saw an opportunity to go further.
Gauge brings a purpose-built, hardware-integrated system for equipment inspections, maintenance scheduling, and work order management, backed by 15+ years of domain expertise and 40,000+ deployed devices. Combining Gauge's capabilities with XBE's existing foundation creates a significantly more comprehensive equipment management solution — and it's now part of the platform.
What we've built
Over the past eleven months, we've been integrating Gauge's capabilities directly into XBE:
- A complete maintenance management system built from the ground up, including maintenance requirements, requirement sets, work orders, and service sites — with AI-powered natural language work order creation and automated scheduling.
- A DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) system with offline capability, including scheduled inspection tracking, deadline management, and automatic notifications for unsatisfactory findings.
- Equipment utilization tracking with multi-source telemetry integration, unifying odometer and hourmeter readings from manual entries and multiple telematics providers — including Gauge, Geotab, Samsara, Deere, and others.
- Bidirectional integration between the Gauge platform and XBE, synchronizing equipment, business units, and work orders in both directions.
This means equipment inspections, maintenance, and utilization tracking are becoming part of the same operational system you already use for scheduling, dispatch, logistics, materials, trucking, and financials.
What's available to you now — and what's coming
These new capabilities are rolling out now and will be available to XBE customers in the coming weeks. If equipment maintenance, inspections, or utilization tracking are relevant to your operations, your XBE representative or contact us can walk you through what's available and how it fits your workflow.
And as with everything in XBE, these capabilities work with Agent XBE. Agent XBE is our AI-powered Superworkforce: an AI worker built into XBE's System of Action that learns how your business operates, takes a goal instead of a rigid workflow, figures out the path forward, and carries the work through to completion inside the platform. Unlike traditional automation that depends on pre-defined rules, Agent XBE reasons across your full operational picture — planning, dispatch, production, trucking, pricing, financial outcomes — and adapts as conditions change. It expands your team's effective capacity rather than just automating isolated tasks.
How we'll make sure you're successful
Our customer success team is applying XBE's Game Plan framework to every customer relationship. Game Plans use an OKR structure — with clear objectives, measurable outcomes, owners, and timelines — to make sure every customer has a concrete path to success. We draw on a library of 50+ proven plays from across our customer community, and Agent XBE actively tracks progress, surfaces updates, and recommends the right approach when something needs attention.
Your success is a tracked, managed priority — not just a promise.
Let's talk
If you have questions about any of this, or you want to explore how the new equipment management capabilities fit your operations, please reach out to your XBE representative or contact us. We're excited about what this adds to the platform, and we're just getting started.
