Careers at XBE

We did not set out to build software. We set out to fix an industry.

XBE is the system of action and superworkforce for heavy materials, logistics, and construction. We are looking for people who want to build something that matters - for an industry that moves the physical world.

The Origin Story

It started with a trucking problem. It turned into something bigger.

Sean Devine started XBE because he kept running into the same wall. He was trying to reduce trucking costs for construction operations and discovered you cannot fix one piece of a business that runs on disconnected systems, handwritten schedules, and tribal knowledge. The trucking problem was a symptom. The real problem was that heavy materials, logistics, and construction had never had software that matched the complexity of the work. So he built it - not a point solution, but a system of action that connects dispatch, production, fleet, finance, and sales into a single operating layer.

Today, XBE has tracked over 475 million tons of material and managed more than $3 billion in trucking costs. We've acquired Gauge, PriceBee, and BCMI Corp., integrated with 50+ systems across the supply chain, and partnered with Banneker Partners to accelerate what comes next. We built Agent XBE - an AI superworkforce that does not recommend actions but executes them, from production planning to billing reconciliation to real-time coordination across your entire operation. We're leading in heavy materials, logistics, and construction technology. And we're only getting started.

Why XBE

Why you'd want to be here

You'll work on problems that are real.

This is not adtech. It is not another B2B SaaS tool optimizing a metric most people will never care about. Construction is a $2 trillion industry where the gap between how work actually gets done and how it should get done is enormous. Dispatchers run million-dollar days from memory. Superintendents reconstruct yesterday's production from a truck driver's text messages. Billing teams trace discrepancies across four databases that do not talk to each other. The problems are tangible, the people affected are right there, and when you solve something, you feel it.

You'll build for an industry that's ready.

Heavy materials and construction have been underserved by technology for decades. Not because operators do not want better tools, but because nobody built tools that matched the real complexity of their work. XBE is the company that finally did. The market is maturing, and operators know it. They are not asking whether to adopt real software. They are asking who built something worth adopting. That's us.

You'll ship things that execute, not things that suggest.

Agent XBE is not a chatbot. It is a superworkforce - an execution engine that updates records, runs workflows, and coordinates real operations at scale. If you want to work on AI that actually does the work instead of summarizing it, this is the place.

You'll own your work from start to finish.

XBE is a distributed team. We do not have layers of approvals or committees that dilute accountability. You take a problem, you build the solution, you ship it, and you hear directly from the customers who use it. The feedback loop is tight and the ownership is real.

You'll work alongside people who care about craft.

We are not trying to move fast and break things. We are trying to build something durable for an industry that runs on reliability. The code matters. The design matters. The words matter. We are looking for people who take that seriously and who want to work with others who do too.

How We Operate

What we believe

These are not posters on a wall. They are how we make decisions.

Vision matters.

If you cannot see what is possible, you leave room for someone else to build it. We spend time imagining where this industry is going and then we build for that future, not the comfortable present.

Adaptability is strength.

The companies that cannot flex do not just struggle - they fracture. We build software that way, and we run our company that way. Plans change. Markets shift. We adjust.

Belief enables ambition.

The problems we are solving are hard. The scope is enormous. You have to believe the work is worth doing, and that you are capable of doing it, or you will settle for something smaller.

Leadership requires courage.

We do not wait for permission. We do not optimize for consensus. When something needs to be said or done, we say it and do it.

Ownership drives results.

When you own the outcome, you anticipate the risks. You do not wait to be told. You act.

Effectiveness before efficiency.

Going fast in the wrong direction drains everything - money, time, morale. We figure out the right thing first. Then we figure out how to do it well.

High agency, then high skill.

We look for people who move - who see a problem and go after it without waiting for instructions. Then we invest in helping them get better. Agency first, because you can teach skill to someone who already knows how to act. You cannot teach initiative to someone who is waiting to be told.

OPEN POSITIONS

Open positions right now

We do not have specific openings posted right now - but that changes. If you are the kind of person who builds robust solutions to hard problems, leads projects from start to finish, and wants to work on something real, do not wait for a listing.

The Details

A few things to know

Distributed team. We work across time zones. You'll need to be self-directed and comfortable with asynchronous communication.

Diverse backgrounds. Our team includes people from construction, logistics, enterprise software, AI research, and startups. The best ideas come from the intersection.

Direct customer contact. Everyone at XBE interacts with the people who use what we build. That is not a perk - it is how we work.

Backed for the long term. Our partnership with Banneker Partners gives us the resources to invest in what matters without chasing quarterly metrics.
