The following letter was posted to www.giantanchor.com to announce XBE's exciting new project pricing product.
Welcome to Giant Anchor,
Over the past 25 years, I've explored, tested, and refined the concepts behind Giant Anchor while navigating roles in pricing, sourcing, and strategy. I've seen firsthand that pricing—more than any other lever—determines profitability. Yet, too often, teams set prices by instincts alone or settle for "splitting the difference" simply because they lack confidence about the edge of the deal range.
In negotiation, anchoring is critical—it's the first bid, and often the last. If you're not anchored confidently at the profitable edge, you'll drift toward the middle, leaving value on the table, or lose altogether. Giant Anchor was created to reduce this uncertainty. Most contractors focus heavily on cost estimation, but that's only half the battle. To price optimally, you must focus equally on the market.
Our initial set of powerful features—including The Hold, Three-Point Bearings, The Multi-Line Fix, and The Dead Reckoning Index—are fantastic. We also have an amazing group of other features in development including The Helm Board, The Fog Bank, Alternate Courses, and Chart Corrections. And wait until you meet the Giant Agents!
There's important work ahead to further improve cost estimation by leveraging XBE's detailed operational understanding and project profitability management—but that will come later. For now, our primary focus with Giant Anchor is on the other side of the deal range. It needs more attention.
If you would like to increase your project pricing precision, I invite you to join our Founding Fleet. This exclusive group will have early access to Giant Anchor during its Maiden Voyage throughout 2025.
Giant Anchor is available to the Founding Fleet starting today. Onboarding takes hours, and you'll be able to use Giant Anchor on your next bid.
If you're interested, reach out to me directly at sean-devine@x-b-e.com. We'd be thrilled to have you aboard.
Fair winds and following seas,
Sean Devine
